Welcome to Wingatui

Wingatui Racecourse is the home of the Otago Racing Club and the Wingatui Function Centre. The Otago Racing Club moved to Wingatui in the community of Mosgiel in 1899 and has been a proud participant and supporter of thoroughbred racing in Otago.

The Otago Racing Club now hosts fifteen race days each year, with fouteen of these at the Wingatui course and its now-famous event in Cromwell, Central Otago each November. In addition, Wingatui is home to the crowd-pleasing Melbourne Cup Day races and Otago Classics Day.

The success of the venue has assisted the development of a strong thoroughbred breeding and training community around the track, further consolidating Wingatui as a premium racing destination.

The facility also houses the Wingatui Function Centre which combines the open pristine venue with a desirable facility for weddings, meetings, and other occasions, serviced by professionals to make your event a success.

Otago Daily Times Southern Mile

The Otago Racing Club is please to launch its new initiative the OTAGO DAILY TIMES SOUTHERN MILE SERIES, to be staged by six clubs over 4 venues, with the opening races on Boxing Day and the final at Wingatui on February 28th.
